Marco Tomamichel's visit

We are happy to announce that we are hosting the visit of Associate Professor Marco Tomamichel from the National University of Singapore until July 8th.

Marco Tomamichel is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Principal Investigator at the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore. He received a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from ETH Zurich (Switzerland) in 2007 and graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics at the Institute of Theoretical Physics at ETH Zurich in 2012. Before commencing his current position, he has been a Lecturer at the School of Physics at the University of Sydney and a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney.

His research interests lie in the intersection of information theory, computer science and quantum physics. The main focus is on the mathematical foundations of the theory of quantum information, for example the study of entropy and other information measures and their applications to questions in quantum communication, computation and cryptography in the setting where the available resources are limited. More information can be found external page here.

He will furthermore be a guest lecturer for the ETH Advanced Topics in Quantum Information course.

This visit is funded by the Pauli Center for Theoretical Studies.
